THE MSU SCHOOL OF ART PRESENTS VISITING ARTIST LECTURE

The School of Art at Montana State University presents a lecture by Rossella Vasta.  Ms. Vasta is an internationally known artist from Perugia, Italy.  She will be lecturing on her ongoing projectTable of Silence.  This project began in 2007 as a collaboration with dancer Jacqulyn Buglisi and the Buglisi Dance Theatre as a way of commemorating the events of 9/11.  It is described in the program notes as a “public tribute and prayer for peace.”  The project is designed to let individuals reflect on the idea that we share the same space on earth and in a sense are invited to the same “table.”  Ms. Vasta created 100 ceramic dishes that are used in the performance that includes more than 100 dancers.

The lecture will be at 7:00 p.m. in 215 Cheever Hall on the MSU campus. The lecture is free and open to the public.  For more information, contact Jeanne Wagner at:  jawagner@montana.edu.
